The last year has brought many positive results for the Al Mohamadia Program. The Arabian and Endurance horses in Riyadh now reside permanently at the new Horse Facility at The Al Mohamadia Stables near Al Kharj, southeast of Riyadh.
In the showring, Al Mohamadia horses shown have garnered a 90% Championship rate. We are very proud of our own Salman Al Mohamadia who was Supreme Champion at the Arabica Egyptian Event in Frankfurt and Junior Champion Colt at the European Egyptian Event in Lanken. Sara Al Mohamadia continued her impressive show career by winning first the Wels International A Show Championship and ending the year with a Middle East Champion Junior Mare title. Abha Palma earned the title of United States National Champion Reserve Junior Mare along with many other Championships on the way.
Of course, the most exciting event and Grand Finale of the year was the World Championship Title won by Abha Qatar. He also earned the title of European Triple Crown Champion by winning all three of the qualifying shows, All Nations Cup, European Championships, and the World Championships. This wonderful young Stallion has lived up to all the hopes and dreams shared by his breeder, owner and team. He is a once in a lifetime horse and we are so honored to have him as a part of the Al Mohamadia Collection. We are excited to breed some of our best mares to him in 2010 and look forward to his first foals that will be born in 2009 all over Europe.
Endurance Racing has been another priority for the Al Mohamadia Team this year. There were major Wins in prominent FEI Sanctioned events held in the Middle East. The Equestrian Federation Cup and Crown Prince Cup were won by Abdullah Bhian aboard Saphir De Sinuhe for Al Mohamadia. We will be competing with the Al Mohamadia team in the Al Khalediah festival and many other Endurance events around the world. Results will be posted in the Endurance link on this site.
The Third Al Mohamadia Arabian Horse Championship will be held April 7 & 8, 2010, in Riyadh. It has been upgraded to an ECAHO “B” International show and we are looking forward to a great reception.

Al Mohamadia stud began as the vision of HRH Prince Abdullah bin Fahd Al Saud to own and breed high quality, competitive Arabian horses. As part of his royal heritage, Prince Abdulah began to study the origins and significance of the Arabian horse in its homeland. This interest led to the acquisition of a few purebred Arabian mares and eventually the famous straight Egyptian stallion, Farres.

Al Mohamadia stud farm is located in the center of one of the largest commercial date tree operations in Saudi Arabia, 70 kilometers south of Riyadh. A state of the art facility has been built, with 80 stalls, several walkers, equine swimming pool, grass paddocks, lunge arenas, viewing tents, offices and hospital/breeding facilities.
HRH Prince Abdullah’s father, HRH Prince Fahd bin Abdullah Al Saud, shares this passion for the Arabian horse and is involved in all decisions and planning. Both enjoy visits to the stables as often as possible to monitor the progress of the horses and breeding decisions.

Along with the purebred Arabian show/breeding division, an endurance division is maintained. HRH Prince Abdullah has been actively participating and promoting endurance racing for many years. He has been successful in many competitions and a wonderful result in the world equestrian games in Aachen 2006, with an 18th overall finish in the open individual endurance race. The “Al Mohamadia stables team”, is competing successfully throughout the Middle East. He has recently been appointed the vice president of the Saudi Arabian equestrian federation, which oversees all the endurance racing and show jumping competitions held in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Through initial consultation with Dr. Bruce McCrea, additional show and breeding stock has been added. Eventually, a show string was formed and al Mohamadia began to excel in Arabian horse competitions. Some horses were selected to show in Europe, and some shown locally. Finally, Dr. McCrea came to manage Al Mohamadia full time and an internationally acclaimed show string has successfully been formed.

Farres
The breeding division is the foremost priority of Prince Abdullah’s vision. Currently, there are several al Mohamadia produced offspring of the important stallion Farres that are currently competing and winning in the show arena. Initially, establishing a strong broodmare foundation was the focus. Several Thee Desperado daughters along with a full sister to Koronec, FS Precious memory, were flown to Saudi Arabia. Different stallions have been obtained, for their pedigrees as well as show potential. These careful selections and decisions have led to the first foal crop of al Mohamadia being extremely positive. A Middle East championship foal class was won along with two first places in their foal division classes. Two Farres daughters have been shown throughout 2008, with many wins and high placings obtained. There are very high hopes for the success of the foal crop of 2009.

ABHA Palma
2009 will also be an important year for showing of the al Mohamadia horses. We have many of our own bred superstars to debut and new youngsters have been purchased with high expectations of them. And, world champion, ABHA Plama, is going to America to dance her way into the winners circle there. |
